Normally, when I think about a good wallpaper photo, it is a pretty clean, simple image. Our computer can be where we spend our whole work day, and you usually don't want a cluttered work space. But if you push the clutter in an image far enough, the complexity can create a monotony, which is a new form of simplicity. And once again it feels right to leave all those random icons strewn across it :)
These images all come from a trip to Italy we took in 2011, just a few months after purchasing our first DSLR. They are in some ways dear to me because of the joy it gave me to be exploring photography with a new tool. Digging through these old images, I was not surprised to find so many suitable (in my mind) for a desktop wallpaper. Some things never change.
